Business Solutions Utilizing Technology
I started my career on the tech side but as my talents and experience grew I learned quickly that technology exists to support the business. Stakeholders, end users, business processes owners, corporate governance and compliance all have a role to play in every project. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn to contribute to business success.
I tend to focus on ROI and Risk Mangement
Over the last 6 years I have been on no fewer than 20 different project teams ranging from 3 to over 200 members for large global projects such as Siebel and Documentum implementations, EAI, small metrics or reporting efforts, and a number of process improvement teams. Although still familiar with the Waterfall, I prefer using iterative methodolgies such as RUP or Six Sigma when possible as they can provide more bang for the buck leveraging learning along the way.

Either leading a team or simply being a team member, I have performed every phase listed in the graphics to the left. Developed business cases, followed numerous methodologies, gathered requirements, documented use cases, performed analysis and followed through with integration, testing and release. Each project is different and I have used a host of different tools to track, document and collect the required artifacts to accomplish these tasks.
In my observation, successful projects have some things in common. Buy in from all stakeholders, well defined data models, an in-depth understanding of the Business Processes and a built in ability to report metrics.
